Brett Lightner

You don't have to know Brett Lightner very long to realize that he was destined for the Mortgage industry. A knowledgeable and caring professional, he is ideally suited for this business and is a pleasure to work with.

Brett's first experience with Real Estate came when he was about 10 years old. His grandmother owned a Real Estate Company and Brett would help track her buyer's monthly payments on the Notes payable to her. He loved the work and he quickly learned how people could make money with real estate investments.

He held a number of related jobs while attending high school and college, but says it was his position as personal assistant to one of the youngest and most successful real estate agents in Los Angeles that sold him on the business.

Brett saw that people with a combination of brains and desire could be extremely successful.

Brett attended business schools in Colorado and San Francisco prior to graduating from California State University Northridge (CSUN) with a B.S. degree in Business Administration (emphasis on finance). He got his first job as a Loan Agent for Mortgage Company in Beverly Hills in 1989.

In 1991 Brett joined American Capital Mortgage in West LA and was a top producer there for almost 19 years before joining Platinum Capital in Manhattan Beach just a mile from his home.

Brett is an avid skier and devoted husband and father of two kids. Brett is passionate about working hard and playing hard. He hasn't broken his personal best of 75 days of skiing in one season yet, but he's working on it.
