Lose house in bankrupcty?

My wife and I have a house together, both our names on the title, but the mortgage is only in her name. I think I'm going to have to file bankruptcy because of business debt in my own name. So my question is, will we risk losing out house in the bankruptcy? Even though the debt on our house isn't in my name? Santa Cruz,CA | Jul 30th 2010

This is a question for a bankruptcy lawyer, not a mortgage professional. I suggest you seek proper counsel.

You definitely need to discuss this with a bankruptcy attorney. As I understand it, though, the fact you're on title typically means it will be listed as an asset.
