Here is my question I hope to move to California in the next year with my wife and would like to know how long of a work history I have to show to qualify for a mortgage. I am a recent graduate engineer from Europe with no experience in that field yet but I have eight years experience with a trades skill.

We like to see two years employment in the same line of work. The bigger question with your scenario is your citizienship status. However with FHA loans you can qualify with less than two years in the same line of work provided that your recent degree is in the field that you are working in.Are you US citizien, green card, or do you have a temp student or work visa?

hi there: If you have any downpayment we can assist you along with just proof of income. Work History is not a big factor with our Private Investors. Rates quite competitive. Mike (703 505 5300)
