Hi Mary Rose. yes you can still qualify with a couple of late payments but it depends on how good the rest of your payment history is. You are 4 yrs out from the BK so it should not be a big issue. Your credit scores are one of the mail indicators for lenders today in their decision to approve the loan. You really need to speak to a lender licensed in your state and apply for a pre-approval. That will mean giving some personal information but you will know for sure before you go searching for your new home. You will be under no obligation whatsoever by receiving a pre-approval but it will go a long way in your negotiations with a seller. Best of Luck to you.

Yes, it is still possible, BUT there is more information needed to know to see if you can get actually get an approval. All loan programs have guidelines with credit scores, debt to income ratios etc. I would highly reccomend you take the time to speak with a mortgage professsional before you start looking at properties so you know. I would be happy to discuss your scenario and provide you with your options and the information you need before to begin looking at properties. We originate loans in Massachusetts.
