As a veteran of the United States Air Force, one of the most important benefit that I earned was the right to get a VA mortgage. A VA mortgage is a mortgage that is insured by the Department of the Veterans Affairs. In 1944 the United States Congress passed the Servicemen's Readjustment Act which enacted various benefits to veterans of the armed forces. During that time, there have been several amendments to help improve benefits to veterans.
