(Pennsylvania was indeed one of the original thirteen colonies). The original plan for Philadelphia was for it to be a rural town, not a bustling city.  However, the city became established as a center for trade and began to grow.  Each of the neighborhoods in Philadelphia has a very distinct identity.  Philadelphia is also known for its cuisine, including the cheese steak, the hoagie, and soft pretzels.  There are many historic sites in Philadelphia, including homes of Betsy Ross and Edgar Allen Poe, Independence Hall, and The Liberty Bell.

Another major city in Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh.  Pittsburgh has a large number of towering skyscrapers. There are also a plethora of bridges throughout the city. It has a low cost of living, and was even named America’s Most Livable City’ at one point. Pittsburgh used to be dependant upon the Steel industry, but has since branched out into robotics, biotechnology, and finance, among other things.

The capital city is Harrisburg.  This city has played a major role in history during the Revolutionary War, and during the Industrial Revolution.  This city is home to the Pennsylvania Farm Show, which is a grand agricultural exhibition.
Southwest of Harrisburg, lays the borough of Gettysburg.  The borough is primarily known as a tourist attraction due to its role in the Civil War (The Battle of Gettysburg), it also prides itself on being a town of excellent higher education facilities. Today, this is a thriving rural town. If you are looking for a place that has historical significance, and rich culture, you should consider being a homeowner in Pennsylvania.
