Washington Mortgage Rates, Washington Mortgage Refinance & Home Equity

Washington is a lovely State in the Pacific Northwestern United States. The State, which is named after the First President of the United States, is the only State named after a President.  Washington borders Oregon in the south and British Columbia Canada in the north.  Washington State is famous for its Cascade Mountain Range, which contains several volcanoes – the two most famous are arguably Mount Rainer and Mount St. Helens.
Washington has a very prominent share in the U.S. agricultural sector, especially of fruit and fish.  Washington has many high quality institutions of higher learning, including a large selection of community colleges.

The capital city in Washington is Olympia.  This smaller city has around fifty thousand residents and is located in the western part of the State. If you are looking to get an Washington Mortgage, Washington Mortgage Refinance or even tap into your home equity with a second mortgage loan in Washington, you have certainly come to the right place. Evergreen State College is here, and the college town atmosphere is alive and well in Olympia.  Another great western city of mention is Tacoma. This city is north of Olympia and south of Seattle. Recently, Tacoma has had a revitalization of its downtown area, and has begun to see more residents in the neighborhoods surrounding Downtown Tacoma.

Seattle however may be Washington State’s best known city. Seattle is the home of the grunge-rock music movement. It is also the founding town of three coffee companies – Starbucks, Seattle’s Best, and Tully’s. Famous companies such as Microsoft and Amazon.com all are headquartered around the Seattle area. Seattle’s most famous landmark is probably the Space Needle.  Seattle is also home to the famous Pike’s Place Market - a public marketplace which has been open since 1907, and is extremely popular with tourists. Especially popular is the Pike’s Place Fish Market where the employees joke and talk to their customers and throw the fish.  The very first Starbucks was founded here, and is still in operation.  Most of Seattle is laid out on a grid plan except for the central business district. Seattle has many venues for the fine arts, as well as many venues for the alternative music/culture scene.

In eastern Washington, the city of Spokane has many excellent features. It has an extensive parks system, with several different gardens – a Japanese Garden, a Renaissance style garden, and botanical garden – among others.  Spokane is less than twenty miles from the Washington-Idaho border.

You can find many different landscapes in Washington State, from rainforest to desert.  Washington also has the largest ferry system in the country.  Washington State is also known for its ‘green politics’ – for taking a stand on environmental issues. If you are looking for a place to live that is environmentally friendly, has lots of great scenery, and enough culture for people from all walks of life – consider being a homeowner in Washington State.
