Yes if you current have a Fannie or Freddie loan and you are refinancing thru HARP your loan will stay as a Fannie or Freddie.

If you refinance under HARP, you will still have a Freddie / Fannie loan... it's proably not important, unless some other refinance program in the future allows you to refinance at an even lower rate, but I dont think that will happen.. WilliamAcres.com

Yes, refinancing a Fannie/Freddie loan under HARP will result in a new loan that is also a Fannie/Freddie loan. This could be important if additional programs become available down the road that could provide additional benefits to you. Personally, I don't see additional benefits being rolled out to those that refi under HARP, but you never know. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com

C, after you close on your refinance, you will receive a letter from the lender notifying you if they sold the loan to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. You can also call your loan servicer to obtain the answer.

Connie, After your loan closing, you will receive a letter from the lender notifying you that the loan has be sold to either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Call your loan servicer to get the answer.
