For a residential home a homeowner must be able to get safely enter and exit their home through a door or window. If you have more questions, please contact me directly at 816-739-6279. It sounds like you are looking for a commercial loan in MO.

FHA loans are governed by HUD which is a federal agency which governs only residential property and Designed for primary residences so the answer for the fire door would not be an FHA regulation rather an appraiser in the county familiar with certain building codes and if in violation and indicates a cost to cure in the report you would have to remedy the issue prior to closing. More info would be needed to properly answer your question.. typically, an FHA appraiser will inspect the property and notate any property deficiencies that deal with safety or health concerns.. if there is an issue, it must be corrected prior to financing. If it's common in the area for homes to have a "Fire Door", and your property does not, then they might require it to continue. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
