Mortgage Rates today are markedly higher than they have been. It looks like the bond rally has finally come to an end, for now anyways. This is a classic example of corrective movement after a substantial run. The jury is still out as to whether or not this correction is going to continue, or if it's just a short term rest for the bond market. Many market participants watching this latest rally have been expecting this moment. The amount of ground lost though still puts us in the green, just not as green as we've been. In fact, today's losses still put us at the 4th lowest levels we've see in over a year. Today may also be a result of investor caution as we head into a three-day weekend.
